Fifty years ago a very famous Montauk fishing captain remarked that of all the places he had fished throughout the world, Montauk was the best and his personal “all-time favorite“. That statement is as true today as it was then. As a matter of fact, in terms of light tackle and fly-fishing, Montauk is even better now then ever. The game fish are larger, more varied and more plentiful. The hot spots are more accessible, the waters crystal clear and pure. All this and Montauk‘s natural beauty, solitude and lack of fishing pressure make it an unforgettable fishing experience. Hard to believe something like this can exist, and thrive, less then 2 ½ hours from New York City. It does, and I would like to share it with you.

Although retired, I am accepting a limited number of reservations with individuals and small groups of serious and experienced light tackle enthusiasts. Each trip will be unique, affordable, productive and a highly enjoyable fishing experience.

• Game Fish: stripped bass, blue fish, weak fish, false albacore,
  large and small mouth bass
• Method: wading, kayaking and skiff casting
• Tackle: 4-9 wt Fly fishing rods
• Charter: One, two or three day events
• Schedule: Dawn to dusk fishing (lunch and dinner break if requested)
• Tariff: $675 per group per day

How to get there and back: Montauk is located at the very eastern tip of Long Island, about 100 miles east of New York. It is an easy and interesting 2 -3 hour drive, through the Hamptons with convenient luxury bus and train service from N.Y. McArthur regional airport is approximately 50 mile West of Montauk .
